The position is involved with the performance of a wide variety of routine manual tasks in a variety of work settings.
Duties are performed under direct or general supervision depending on the nature of the tasks to be completed.
Additional Duties: • Loads and unloads materials, parts, or products onto or from pallets, carts, or trucks. • Performs a variety of heavy cleaning work, such as washing walls and windows. • Acts as a helper to Senior Maintenance Mechanic. • Shovels snow from sidewalks, stairs, and other passages. • Plow, salt and sand sidewalks, parking lots. • Cut brush and grass using hand tools or mower. • Painting. • Repairs and improvements to building and facilities. • Assists cleaners and other staff, as needed.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor or his/her designee.
• Working knowledge of the common practices, tools, terminology, and safety precautions. • Ability to use hand and power tools; ability to follow oral and written directions. • Ability to work in a safe and efficient manner. • Manual dexterity. • Willingness to work outdoors year-round. • Physical condition sufficient to perform the essential functions of the position. • Ability to work and communicate positively. • Self-starter, must show initiative.
