Job Description

The West Valley Central School District is seeking a passionate, student-centered Special Education Teacher to join our dedicated faculty. Responsibilities Include

• Provide specially designed instruction in accordance with students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to support student success.
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals and accommodations.
• Utilize assessment data to guide instruction and monitor student progress.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
• Foster an inclusive classroom culture built on high expectations, respect, and student engagement.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with New York State and federal special education regulations.
• Participate in CSE meetings, faculty meetings, professional learning, and school initiatives.
• Support the district's vision of preparing students to become lifelong learners and responsible citizens.

Job Qualifications

Qualifications

• New York State Certification in Special Education (required)
• Strong knowledge of New York State special education regulations and instructional best practices
• Demonstrated ability to differentiate instruction and support diverse learners
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Commitment to creating a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
