Substitute Teacher

West Valley Central School is seeking dependable and enthusiastic substitute teachers to support students in grades UPK–12.

Responsibilities

• Follow classroom lesson plans and teacher instructions
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment
• Supervise students throughout the school day
• Follow district policies and procedures
• Communicate relevant information to the classroom teacher and administration

Job Qualifications

Qualifications

• New York State teacher certification preferred, but not required
• Strong communication and classroom-management skills
• Ability to work effectively with students of varying ages
• New York State Education Department fingerprint clearance is required

Application Procedure

Daily Rate

• Certified teachers: $140 per day
• Non-certified substitutes: $125 per day
• After 10 consecutive weeks in the same assignment:
  • Certified teachers: $167 per day
  • Non-certified substitutes: $130 per day
