Job Description

West Valley Central School District is seeking a student-centered Mathematics Teacher to provide engaging,
standards-aligned instruction for students in grades 5–9. The successful candidate will build strong
relationships with students and collaborate with colleagues to support achievement and vertical alignment.

Job Qualifications

Responsibilities Include

• Provide engaging and differentiated mathematics instruction in grades 5–9
• Use assessment data to guide instruction, intervention, and enrichment
• Collaborate with colleagues through PLCs and support vertical curriculum alignment
• Maintain a positive, structured, and student-centered classroom
• Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues

Qualifications

• Candidates must hold or be eligible for NYS certification appropriate for teaching Mathematics in grades 5–9,
• including:
• Childhood Education (1–6) with Mathematics 7–9 Extension
• Mathematics (7–12) with Grades 5–6 Extension
• Mathematics (5–9) certification or other appropriate NYS certification
• Candidates eligible and willing to obtain the appropriate extension are encouraged to apply. Middle-level mathematics and/or Algebra I experience preferred.
